Saved Default Style Changes If You Change File Name

I use a musescore file that I call 'template' for my scores as there are some things that I can't save in an actual template and then rename the score once I populate it with notes, usually band arrangements of pop songs to play live in my band. The problem arrises when I rename the file from 'Template' to the song and then all the default style changes I have made get undone and go back to default which is very frustrating. This is not the style settings as those stay the same, but the default settings that I have changed in the palettes, e.g the size of the coda symbol or the colour of rehearsal marks text. If I am using this wrong then please let me know or if there is a better workflow.
