New Plugins
I am using Musescore 4.5 and I am trying to create and install a new plugin. I keep getting an error message that indicates that I need administrator approval. I have checked and this error message is not coming from my side. What am I doing wrong?

Do you think that with this info anyone can give you advice?
Attach the plugin, attach the log file.
As I understand it, plugins no longer work in version 4.5 and later.

Plugins won't ask for administrator approval
Unless maybe when trying to create them in the program directory rather than in the personal one

In Windows 10 and 11, plugins go in Documents > Musescore 4 > Plugins. If @carrencarlsen tried to save plugins into Program Files > Musescore 4 > Plugins then they will get that error.

Yes, but plugins don't belong there

Which path are you referring to?

Plugins don't belong into Program Files > Musescore 4 > Plugins (except for those that come as part of MuseScore)

So we are in agreement. Thanks!

Wait a minute......how are you creating this plugin? Are you writing it in a text program and then saving it to the plugins directory? I don't see the Plugins Creator in the menu. If you're trying to install the plugins to the plugins folder without using a Plugins Creator and Musescore was installed by an administrator, then you'll have to sign out of your user account and sign back in as administrator. Then you'll be able to move your plugin into the plugins folder. If you still have Musescore 3.6.2 handy then you can use the plugins creator included in it to at least help you save your plugins to the right folder using the proper permissions, even though they won't work at all in 3.6.2.
