How to hide bars in a staff without taking up beatmap space?

• Jun 25, 2025 - 16:04

In some choral scores, you can see that some bars are hidden because the chorus part has no notes, and only the piano part is shown, and it only appears when the chorus part has a note, how can I achieve this effect on MuseScore?
When I try to hide it, I will find that although the subsections are hidden, they will still take up the space of the beatmap, and I can't put more subsections on this page, how can I delete these spaces?
How can I hide the blank subsection in the file image as required above?
Thank you

The Handbook is your friend!

I recommend that every new (or "new-ish" :-) user take an hour or two and simply read the entire Handbook (https://handbook.musescore.org/). Don't try to memorize it! Just skim through it and familiarize yourself with the contents! But read it all!!! Then you'll have an idea where to find things when issues come up in the future. "Didn't I see something about that in the Handbook?"

Welcome aboard and best of luck!!!
